NC Computer Skills Contents of the Computer Skills Test
Beginning at grade eight, all students must meet the computer skills graduation requirement based on the competencies of the K-8 computer skills curriculum as defined in the North CarolinaStandard Course of Study. The year a student enters grade eight determines which form of the test the student must take in order to meet the requirement for graduation. Students who entered grade eight from the 1996-1997 school year through the 1999-2000 school year must meet the computer skills graduation requirement based on the 1992 computer skills curriculum (Test Edition 1). Students who entered grade eight in the 2000-2001 school year through 2004–2005 must meet the computer skills graduation requirement based on the 1998 computer skills curriculum (Test Edition 2). Students who enter grade eight for the first time in the 2005-2006 school year and beyond are required to meet the computer skills graduation requirement based on the 2004 Computer/Technology Skills North CarolinaStandard Course of Study (Test Edition 3).
