VIDEO EDITING PROJECT – WHEN I WAS A KID

 

ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION:

You will produce a time capsule to help preserve your life history for future generations. The capsule will consist of the following to document you life’s milestones

  • Interviews with friends, parents, guardians and neighbors. They will share an interesting story about you as a young child.
  • Personal photos and other mementos from the past and present
  • Snippets of favorite music

Items to Include:

      • The student should prepare a storyboard to organize the information and write complete copy before taping.
      • The presentation should be seven to ten minutes in length.
      • You must appear in your video.
      • The presentation should begin with an introduction (name, birth place, family) and proceed to several significant memories (special summer vacation/birthday/holiday, elementary school, hobbies, goals, etc.).
      • Favorite and least favorite activities
      • How long have you been at STM
      • Who was your first friend at STM
      • Who do you look up to most and why

INPUT/OUTPUT:

Students will create this video project using Microsoft Movie Maker. All personal content will be stored on students “My Documents” folder.  The completed video project will be presented to the 8th grade class prior to Christmas break. Students will receive a copy of their personal video on a CD. This video will be formatted as an AVI file that can be run on most PCs.
